Phew! I have managed to convince everyone to go back to the nest boxes to lay.
When Calypso was broody she was so mean that the little hens (Piglet and Pooh) weren’t bothering to try and get in. So eggs have been left in random places on the floor.
Looks like we have a return to normal programming.
Not sure who ran out of ink.

I had chicken Pox as a child, and it was miserable. But I can’t persuade my roo to come inside and get treatment. He just waits at that screen door and taunts me. He’s too fast to catch.
The joy of young chickens! Catch him with a net or towel or something & treat him. He will forgive you in time!

In time 🤔. How about I just wait until evening for perch time. He’s much more relaxed at night.
w/us having so few hens we panic faster to treat sooner. When we have only 2 to 5 hens at a time & an illness hit one & we lost it the flock dynamic changed. It caused us to treat asap as a result. But that's us & not all other chicken owners.

YAY !!! We received SimpleJenn's Silkie egg basket yesterday w/a sweet note & a surprise Dominique craft hen which tickled DH cuz our Dom Dana is "his" hen. TY Jenn :love

Permission from Jenn to show pics. DH is not the best photographer but better than me w/my broken arm:

Jenn w/ just simple flicks of artistic straight lines created this image of a Silkie at the bottom of her note. A real flair for creativity!
