It has rained now for 48 hours. I should not complain, this week we were listed in level 1 drought. I am going to complain though as it is also supposed to rain pretty much nonstop for the next week. This hinders my chicken time, especially with the littles. I just gutted the coop as well and loaded it with new sawdust Friday. I will be soaked but I do need to go out tomorrow and try to save what I can of the currently soaked coop and top it off with some dry bedding. I think I will strip off the soaked part and bed heavily with loose hay. It will give the littles something to dig in and pass the time.
Happy hurricane.

And if you cross Betty back to her Daddy Mr. P you get George.

This little rascal is 1/4 silkie and 3/4 polish. He did not inherit the curly feathers from his momma or grandma. He did not inherit the feathered legs, his earlobes are not going to be blue. He is going to have his daddy's comb. His leg color, can't blame that on the silkies. I have saw pure polish with that color. If he has any silkie traits showing it is going to be his size. He is small and going to remain small. I do not see him getting as big as his half brother Bert. If I wanted I believe when he is finished growing he will look just like a bantam polish. I will not call him that, he is what he is, a polkie who forgot he is part silkie.
Polkies everywhere!

Friends when my sister finally gets back home she is going to have a story to tell. She is a beach and ocean girl. Me, do not take me out of the safety of my Mountains. She left last Wednesday afternoon. Thursday they flew to Fort Lauderdale, and boarded the boat Friday in Miami. The itinerary was supposed to be cruise to one of the islands of the Bahama's for a day and then cruise to a Island off Mexico. Well, that got changed the day they were in the Bahama's. All the boats in the gulf were rerouted to the Caribbean. Sis's cruise was detoured to Nassau. That is great and all but she was in that general area last year. This year she was hoping to explore the gulf, never been there. The boat docked back in Miami this morning and sis is stuck now in Fort Lauderdale for who knows how long. They were supposed to fly back this afternoon but it was canceled early this morning. They were thankfully able to find a hotel so they are not stuck at the airport. Pray for her and Austin as thanks to my beach loving sister they get to experience their first hurricane together. There is a reason I love my mountains people. No hurricanes and while they do happen, tornado's are rare for my area and I've been fortunate to never be in one.
It’s beautiful there. I flew Marie to the Gulf of Mexico before. Very pretty (when it’s not hurricane season)

Mugs Monday.

Umm, it is THURSDAY. I know it starts with the same letter, and ends with 'day', also....but you aren't supposed to get that mixed up on your days until you are retired....you are too young to be retired!!!

nice picture, though - so thank you :D
