My girl won't make it till morning.now she's gurgling.
If she is gurgling - try to position her so that if there is still fluid in her throat, it will drain out - so she won't aspirate more than she may have already doen - and post in the emergency forum.

I love how the Poplars go gold at the tops - the colour doesn’t last long though. It’s the one thing here in Ontario I would miss being in AB for the Fall, the trees here are a wild variety of colours. Just hold and green out there.
Those aren't poplars. They're quaking aspen...like the ones making a jungle in my yard...

Please help. Emergency. Chicken choking on vomit. Chicken has swelled up chest breast. Please call me Terry at 864-616-7677 ASAP
So sorry to hear that - I am afraid I can't help. I see you have already posted on the emergency thread. My advice is the same as you have here from @Ponypoor and @bgmathteach. Keep her quiet and calm.
Hoping for the best.

I feel so bad for him. I have been in the same situation and it’s heartbreaking

Hey all. I'm never catching up.

Meanie is now regularly laying on the darn floor. As head hen she's failing miserably in teaching the Red Squad good laying manners. I added some depth to their boxes today, maybe that'll help. Honestly, 4 boxes for 3 laying hens and Eenie is the only one polite enough to use one.

Sheba has a saddle, finally. The simplest one I could find that covers her wings. Hopefully having a potholder on her back will keep her from getting plucked!

Eenie has bumblefoot. :( It's mild...but clearly there. None of my hens really let you catch them. So treating this will be a challenge. I will have to so some research on this.

Prayers to all having a rough time. I miss my chicken tenders of FBA. Life has just been so busy...again!

Self taught: where did this come from? In my mix offspring...or figuring out the parents. If I don't have/haven't had/don't have on my future wish list, info is iffy. I'm also finding there's a lot of color info that hides under others and some colors (like BBR of the brown leghorn) interact in weird ways that I don't understand yet. Those are the ones that my curiosity bug makes me go investigate when questions get asked and I'm going.....ummmm.....I don't know.....now I want to know.
I worked as a researcher for attorneys, sort of like a legal aide (w/o the degree or title), & now i'm retired over 20 yrs am no longer into delving info. Much easier just to ask a quick question from an interesting younger person ❤️nowadays!.

The problem was that it was right above her eye. Probably a 1/4 inch or so above it. I wouldn’t comfortable doing that as even her moving slightly could cost her permanent damage
Treating any of our birds is always easier w/2 people ~ one to hold the bird down while the other treats.

And just for @BY Bob View attachment 3954435An old fire truck
Gorgeous views! Cute old fire truck. We see a lot of green fire fighter trucks around here whenever the mountains behind us are ablaze. This summer was a cooler year w/o any fires so no green trucks.
