Reassurance please.
I don’t know anything about snakes. Just met this beauty in the chicken run. The chickens are going out of their way to avoid it and it was aggressively lunging at me when I walked past.
I will leave it be unless it might be dangerous.
Any insight?

The only one of us safely out of its reach is of course Tassels. Still broody, after all this time. Still broody …

I concur with @SimpleJenn , I believe it is an Eastern Garter snake.

Here is a brochure of common NJ snakes

That said - Tassels, you are a wise woman - it is always better to be safe than sorry! :lau

They are in the run extension for now. They will be safe, if a bit cramped.

Hey PP! :frow

We are doing well, thank you for asking! Angel is broody at the moment and Snowy starts yelling to be let out just after 6am. 🙄

I hope everyone is well at your place.
Hi Lozzy!

Glad everyone is doing well.

Broodies seem to be the name of the game on this thread!!:gig:gig

Don't be such a stranger on this thread...and feel free to post pics of your broodies - so poor @RoyalChick can commiserate.:lau:lau:lau

Don’t forget my crazy 2 also! Curly just got rid of her chicks! And goes broody again! She is determined to have more babies.

And Henny Penny always goes broody at this time year - what’s that all about?!
