I think her eye is pretty messed up, but she's doing fine other than that. We've been cleaning it but my Dad says it looks cut to him. She's keeping it mostly shut right now, poor thing.
Have you bathed it in salt. I used himalayan salt. But I've read celtic might be better

I found the himalayan stung much less

That poof keeps growing. I really need to trim it. I cannot though as it is still a mass of pin feathers with a active blood supply. I'm going to be honest and say I am shocked at how long they have already gotten. I was expecting something more along the lines of what his brother Bert has for a crest. He is so pretty and I adore him. It also happened yesterday. George got a beating. Spooky is molting and grouchy. George caught her coming around the house and challenged her and tried to kick her in the face. Oh you poor darling idiot boy. She pummeled him and did it so fast he did not see it coming. He is fine, his pride is bruised. I stayed in my seat, I wanted to stop it but I stayed put. It was hard to watch but Spooky did not set out to hurt him she just took him down a few pegs. I waited a few minutes after it was over and I went and got him and held him. No immediate cuddling. I did not want to undo the lessen he had been taught. Now we get to see how smart he is. Is he going to learn from this or will it take several more beatings. Please, please George be smart. You can also count your lucky stars you did not do this to Raven or Siri. What Spooky gave you would have been nothing in comparison.
