And this confusing daylight saving time. :barnie We set our clock back an hour? Ok but how do I reset my alarm clucks 🐓 to adjust to the time change?
I feel your pain. And confusion. This afternoon I figured I would get a head start on the time change and bring the horses in. Only thing was I messed up and brought them in at 4 thinking it was going back.

I should have bought them in at 5:30, so it would be ‘4:30’ tomorrow night.

Then I thought I would just make an early night of it, but those 4 youngest chicks had other ideas. They had flown the coop… the flew over that new fencing on the property line into the thick brambles and brush on my neighbour’s side.

It took me almost an hr to get them hauled back to my side. I couldn’t catch them through the brambles, got all scratched up. I resorted to having to grab them and haul them under the fencing. Tomorrow they are being locked in the Summer House. I am tired of chasing down brats, at least Butterscotch and Tippy will make their way back to the yard. Or come when I call them, these 4 are wild things!

Yes you brat Patches I am talking about you!

Poor Dakota, just laid a soft shelled egg on the couch. She’s lacking calcium and potassium I guess. I supplement the best that I can.
Jaffarra just laid one like that when I was putting everyone to bed. I gave her 1/2 an aspirin as she really doesn’t look happy, and 1/4 of a calcium tablet.

I knew one of those oldest set of chicks was laying soft eggs but didn’t know who. I will start dosing her with calcium nightly now. She’s only started laying so hopefully she can get on the right track.

Still dialing in my meds for my diabetes. Averaging low 300s. 340 this morning. Got a control kit coming this morning to verify my meter. If my meter is correct then I'll message the doctor a copy of my log so he can tweak my meds. Don't like the woozy spells that come with the high levels for sure.
:hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

Just an FYI: Once you get it under control, you will start to feel much better - fewer aches in your joints, etc. High blood sugars cause system wide inflammation...getting them under control will make you feel soooo much better. It will be a process...but stick with it and know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Diabetes is imminently controllable - it will just take a bit of playing with/tweaking meds to find what works for you.

Yikes, I'm aware of Daylight Savings Time happening, but I've been so busy that I'm seeing this late in the night and it has caught my attention.
Okay, Grandma. Enjoy your last bit of sun because the UV index will be lower and it'll be sunset by 4:30. We'll have time during the weekend. Tomorrow, I'll have a photo of Mozzarella since it's been a while since you've seen her.

Here you go- pretty chickens.

@Sylvester017

Here is some footage of Clyde the Brave.
All the birds are beauties! You're right, that one boy is HUGE ~ he's got massive feet to grow into, hard to believe he was ever a little chick.

But Clyde ~ he definitely has gorgeous silver, he's eye candy & brave to boot!
