Today I went to Knisley's Pet and Farm Center. I browsed through since it has been a while since I've walked in there and here are my discoveries.
This was the first section I went to. I do like the selection I'm seeing.

Here's some supplements one can put in their flock's water. There are even probiotic and electrolyte packets.

The mealworms. The shelf behind me held the chicken grain and feed as well as the dried corn bits.

Sorry, I'm not a snow bunny, not my cup of tea. By the time $$$ is spent on after-ski boots, parkas, lined gloves, goggles, ski & pole rentals, a lodge to stay in (too exhausted to leave same day), & meals ~ not to mention either the flight tickets, or the gas spent to get access to a closer ski mountain, we found nothing inexpensive. I was only 23 when I went & it was miserable & expensive then. Can't imagine what inexpensive means today! Only memorable thing I got out of the experience besides blisters on the Achilles was my cushy fleece after-ski boots that I wore forever! Everything else was worthless since we don't need parkas, lined gloves, winter socks, or goggles in Southern Calif.

Nice sunny December 2021 day, w/ the snowy mtn close enough to enjoy while we basque in warmth in our valley.

Yea, if you live in a warm climate it would be an alien experience for someone not used to winter.

Winter is extremely expensive - home heating, extra lighting in morning and evening, warm clothing, boots, toques, mitts/gloves, snow tires, shovelling and shovelling and shovelling snow. Driving on icy roads….. yep if one isn’t used to it then it will be miserable.

Hey it’s miserable to me and I live and work in winter half the year! Why do you think I get eggcited when it’s warm and no snow?!

When it snows (this was last January the only real snow we got last year and it was gone in a couple days) the horses and chooks are grumpy.

But the kiddos enjoy Mount Poopmore

This snow was about 6” and was gone in a couple days. Normally the snow would be about 3’ deep and lay from Nov to April.

But it takes them some time to want to come on out.

Hahaha I finally had to put some old bedding down as a path for them. They didn’t stay out very long, it was a chilly windy day.

You walked in at the right time before the shelves got picked over. My DH would go nuts over all those items for our hens! That is an impressive display!

Winter is coming on so they're clearing summer needed items before they expire to bring in fresher stock on the shelves for newer Spring sales needs. I am impressed that all are 10% discounted or more! It's like after Valentines & Easter holidays the candies are sale priced in order to move 'em out before Mothers Day flowers & newer chocolates are set out!

I just saw some sad news from Useless Farms. I know some watch their video's of the emu's Karen and Stanly. I also loved the little jerk of a cotton ball, the white silkie rooster Brad.

A video was posted 2 days ago, Brad passed away peacefully in his sleep. She portrayed Brad as spawn of satan on her video's but she posted she loved the little crowing, ankle biting jerk.

Rest in peace Brad.

He’s a cheeky boy, and very funny.

His thing now is to march into the feedroom and hop up onto something and scream in my ear - then hop down and march back out.

This morning I had to catch him before he hopped up onto the heater! What a cheeky boy

The other night he roosted in the beams again and in the morning he flew down onto my arm I had held out for him he and Clyde are goofy goobers

They had 5 bags of chick starter on sale for $5 yesterday when I was in getting feed. I almost bought a couple but I controlled myself

I am not getting any more chicks next year. I am at capacity

Too bad they did have horse feed on sale for $5!

Awwwwww that’s sad. Brad was a Bad Boy but he was cute as a button.

She has a good sense of humour. I am sure she was upset with his pissing ooops meant passing but I am sure she has chicks from him.
