Awwww - poor kiddo. It’s tough having all that energy and no one to share adventures with! That’s what happpens here with Georgie in the Summer House, I put Mrs LC in with her but that didn’t work LC is off on her own happily. So I put Betty in there also and Georgie and Betty are hanging together. No One Wants to Play Alone
Having a big split in ages in your flock can lead to separation anxiety of a different kind. Aster is not even 20 weeks old and has the energy to explore and wander wide. With her mum busy laying an egg, and the other 3 hens being over 5 years old, there is no one who wants to explore with her.
The old ladies were laying under the trumpet vine relaxing and were not interested is going off scratching with Aster.
It works well because those are the three wee ladies who I don’t want out with the big boys.
Betty escaped out with the main gang
She was laying an egg when I let everyone out.
