Hens are great at hiding their open range nests. DH goes around daily to search for eggs. The girls are good about using the coop nestboxes but once he found an egg at the coop run entrance, one in the middle of the coop floor, a couple in the raised garden beds, & one under the walking bridge.

I have found eggs everywhere also. But I think RoyalChick has the strangest place she has even seen eggs laid

I was wondering about bee sting. It doesn’t look like an eye infection to me.

No bees. Maybe spider bite? Lots of this here.

With reservations I agreed with most of what was said. Except that Cochins will die for their hens, I should know! Sir Jaffar after many jousts, eventually died in battle!!!!!! Don’t tell me they are not good roosters!

Found a card once....

Rudolph, front leg in a sling, opposite hind leg on a cast, part of an antler broken and dangling from the rest, assorted cuts and contusions scattered over the rest of him. Sitting on a stool (back to viewer), wearing a dunce cap, leaning over a writing stand, writing lines on a scroll with a quill:
I will not play chicken with jumbo jet.

All I saw was ‘chicken’ and thought fight with a chicken hahahaha then I read the whole thing again.

I am chicken and horse obsessed.

I know I measured it but I forget exactly. Given the slope it is probably 11’ up.

I know from the ground I couldn’t be sure what I was looking at and had to zoom in to confirm it was an egg.

I have the electric fence turned off because after such a long drought here I am worried about sparks starting a fire.
Someone got in to the chicken yard. It is OK, the ladies are safely locked up in their Palace.
Raccoon maybe?
The fence doesn’t really deter the raccoons because they go from tree to tree and drop in from above.
