Omg! Oh no😳

Oh noooo! Oh no! How crushing.

I was just reading about AI not being east of Saskatchewan here in Canada - yet. Though they expect it soon enough.

But this it too close to home. That’s it. My gang is no longer going outside at all.

Gosh I am just gobsmacked 😢😢😢 I cannot believe it. It’s just so surreal.

Well I am sending hugs to you Mr and Mrs By Bob, and to Jenn and her family. Gosh I just don’t know what to say.

😢😢😢😢😢
It's just so terribly tragic. Tragic. 😥

I was going to fill my bird feeder tomorrow. I usually keep it full all winter. This winter the song birds are on their own. It makes me sad but I just can't afford the risk.🙁
At least the songbirds are excellent at provisioning and survival during winter, they find their ways. Did you know the black-capped chickadee can lower its body temp, heart rate and metabolism during freezing nights so that it doesn't use all of its energy keeping warm? The wild birds will be alright without feeders, we should protect our flocks and the wild birds by preventing infection as much as possible!

Misses the palindrome 🤨

Oh well always next time!
Yes everyone I realize I didn’t see Jenn’s posting (which I am still gobsmacked about).

I never in my wildest dreams would have thought she had AI, if she can get it then any of us can. Right now I am terrified thinking how close this is to my place. Right now I am very afraid 😞

I know I just read it! I am just gobsmacked I cannot believe it! I absolutely cannot believe it!

You hear of it taking a flock overnight but you just don’t understand really until it happens to you or someone you know.

My flock is now quarantined in the barn for the rest of the winter. They can stay inside.

And I will be dealing with Laverne tonight. She will go in the crate and sequestered someplace away from everyone.

Gosh I am just so shocked.
I feel your fear deeply. I'm trying to decide what to do with mine.

Know this everyone.

I am afraid.

Deep in my bones.

This has me shaken.

I have dodged this disease twice now with other causes of illness.

Nothing is scarier than watching them pass and be powerless to help. My heart breaks for @SimpleJenn

I gave up feeding the birds a couple yrs ago when I first got chickens and learnt of AI - I need too I text my neighbour and warn her to keep her flock contained and stop feeding the wild birds

She is ripe for AI, she had a pond and allows geese to stay there right next to her own ducks, geese and chickens. If anything happens to her flock I am sure the CFIA will knocking on my door too.

Time to start being smart about this - it’s serious stuff.

And utterly terrifying. I was counting on the News being correct that there were no cases here in this part of the country. But Jenn is not so far from me - or any of us in east here.

😞
Imagine how many people lose their flocks and don't report it. I'm certain it is under reported.
