This is an argument that I will take up when the time is right. The Polish have such a hold on her heart. She just loves them so much. He is the third she has lost in the past year. That's a lot to take. Frankly we are still dealing with Phyllis passing. I miss her every time I go out into the backyard and she is not at my feet.

The hope was Versace would take her place in the tribe. But he was a boy. We found him a good home where she could still follow his life and that was just ripped away. It's just hard for her right now. He was her baby.

Thinking of you both 💓 ❤️

Jenn mentioned a second death Nov 5th, attributed at the time to something to do with the plastic coop. Could that still fit in with a possible HPAI timeline?
I don't remember the symptoms but I do think so... It wasn't that long ago, so it could've been one of the first deaths from the virus. Was Branch the first to be culled? I don't remember the symptoms of that one, either. I wonder if they were the first deaths from HPAI in her flock?

Her first little cockerel that was ill?

I think that would be too far back. Unless he something different from AI that is just as contagious and acts swiftly.

Most illnesses just don’t act so swift, such as Coryza which is what I had put my money on. And doesn’t have the high morbidity.

Of course the only real way to know what her chooks died from would be to have them tested. I do not know if she has reported this or not.

Very sad and very terrifying.
