Orange? Almond? Trees? Good Central highway windbreakers. They used to plant Eucalyptus trees as windbreakers along Central Valley highways in the old days.

My folks' farm was in rural San Diego County & I remember mom feeding immigrant migrant crop pickers trekking thru our property on foot from Mexico to Central Valley during harvest seasons ~ even way before the political Cesar Chavez days. I wonder how many "Angels Unaware" she fed?

Good afternoon everyone.

Let us pause for a moment of silence please.

Do not panic, no lives were lost. I cannot say the same for the 8 eggs in a carton on my countertop that I have been hoarding. 1 hen laying every other day. Mr. Stripey had better continue to hide as he is on my hit list. He jumped up on the counter which #1 all cats are forbidden doing and knocked them off onto the floor.

0 eggs, I currently have 0 eggs to my name. Dark times are upon me my friends. I will NOT buy some from the store.

Don’t you know, don’t keep all your eggs in one basket!

Just East of me are pistachio groves and walnut trees. It’s a shame how they tear down older trees and replace them with new ones. But I’m not a farmer.
I’m a driver, pilot and sometimes even a pedestrian!

Same with everything - money is the driving force, look at laying hens - after a yr and a half they are culled and replaced. It’s all about money.

Meanwhile - I have half my flock freeloading lawn ornaments!

Let’s have a little contest on how many chickens do I have now…. A hint, it’s less then 100.
