Don't you have the same infrared panel I have? It only heats living tissue. It is cold to the touch.
Hmmm. I don't think mine is infrared.
This is what I have:

It is 200W. It is warm to the touch and I can detect heat about an inch or so away from it.
Here you can see it hanging from the window frame with poor molting Bernie facing into it.
Maybe I should get a second one and hang it at 90 degrees - on the wall to Bernie's right that way at least one hen (usually Bernie) can snuggle up close to it.
Where it is now they can put their faces up against it.

She still is limited in her movement, lays around a lot, but she continues to move more than she used to even as recent as the summer. She even fly/ran about a week ago. It was thrilling to see.

She never misses out on snacks and goes to bed with a full crop. This will be her normal for the rest of her life. It still seems like a good life.
She looks great ♥️

These older ladies, they are retirees.

And still wonderful companions to us and great teachers of the new tribe members. I can see the tribal knowledge passed downtown Aster and it is impressive.
Yes, the oldsters and the youngsters learn from each other I find. And of course learn each others bad habits too 😊♥️

I have that one also, I use it for the silkies when it’s really cold.

Good for her. Snacks and naps are good for us older ladies!
