Same here - it is COLD and snowy and very windy.
Everyone is unhappy including me. They think it is my fault, but I told them it was your fault and it looks to me like your ladies agree that you are to blame!
It was very windy here and there was just a thin layer of snow that melted not even close to the afternoon.
It's cold here.

To top it off, Agathae and Dominica started molting again.
No, no, no. A recipe for disaster.
Well, it's not too late to bring out the sweaters...

That video made me even colder than I was already!
I love snow, but that wind looks nasty. Not a fan of wind at all. We had a week or so of intense winds a few weeks ago. This week we have been dry and hovering right at freezing. For the last week the forecast has said it would be 4-6° warmer the next day with a high around 40, yesterday was the first day it got close.

A good day for remembering the sun

Winds were beyond brutal today. Beyond brutal.

George is growing up and I think finally discovering he is a rooster. Of course his first roosterly act was directed towards me. Why not, Branch was the same way. I give it a month and when the girls start back laying again he will forget all about me and discover the ladies. I actually caught it on video. George always escorts me back into the house so I thought I would share it with you all.

I also have some pictures of my handsome little man. I love this little guy.

No that is not dirty feathers. Georgie boy is getting some cream like his daddy and big brother Bert.
A new boyfriend. Lucky you. 🥰

That was so darn sweet. 🥰

My knee has been aching the past few days. I was supposed to shovel the porches but I can hardly walk. Guess I'll wheel hubby's computer chair over to the sink and attempt to do dishes while sitting down.

Yesterday's snowman. He's buried in new snowfall now
I hope you feel better soon. :hugs :hugs :hugs

Ok, all you smart and experienced chickeneers. I have something odd going on. Still have birds moulting (they do it in rotations). However, 2 of this year's pullets have joined in: Hyacinth and Rose are both moulting: rumpled feathers, neck/head/tail feathers clearly have new feathers coming. Anyone have experience with this?
I've never had first year birds molt their first fall. I have no idea how to advise. Any chance it's one of the regular molts as they grow?

That is terrifying. If you read my coop article you can learn about the blizzard we had here that would have suffocated our ladies had I not thought about them when I went out to free a song bird from their run.
Wow, love your article and those pictures!
Read it and rated it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

As long as he does not develop a affection for my hand or shoe we are good. Honestly though, I am mommy and I shall enjoy and revel in his attention for a bit longer. Sigh, it is going to happen soon. He is going to realize what the girls are, and what he is. My boy is going to drop me like a hat. My baby boy is growing up.
