Ok some back tax.

I let the kiddos out, and they were less worried about the snow, helps that most of it is melted.

I loved the videos. Your chickens are gorgeous.

I know you have several of Mr. Ps daughters and they all have a similar look to them. His son's you had also were very similar in build and look.

I actually find something very intriguing.

The sons and daughters of Mr. P you have hatched while yes they had head poofs, nothing in comparison to Mr. Ps.

How, in the 1 chick of his that I hatched did I become blessed to get his twin?

I suspect it is because Mr. P is both daddy and granddaddy to George. It makes me wonder if more Betty x Mr. P eggs were incubated and hatched if they would be similar to George.

I'm sure I owe tax for something.

Here are a few silkie photo's I took the last week.

How are you feeling today? I hope you have this pain under control
TY for asking. Just like any other other pain ~ I live w/ it & thank God I still wake up in the mornings w/DH to help me. He ordered me a new kind of Magnesium to take at night before bed that has a time-release that's better than a one dose capsule that doesn't work as long thru the night. W/the new magnesium I slept for over 5 hrs ~ before I've been wakened w/ pain every 2 hours or less thru the night but the new magnesium must be working its magic to get more than 5 hours sleep!

For daytime i sometimes take a magnesium powder drink for an immediate pain relief. I keep wondering how quick magnesium pain relief would be for chickens & how much to give should they need it ~ especially for older or arthritic pets?

Mr Wyandottey is at it again! Soon as I let the chooks out, he started attacking my hungry Rockettes. I brought him inside for a while, then took him out. First thing he did was attack poor Coco. I stopped that real quick and now I have my beloved Coco in the house with me now. She doesn’t know it yet, but she’s getting a steak dinner tonight. Poor little thing looks naked without her feathers.

Awww thanks for the compliment - they are a great mix of this and that, I have always liked mish-mash animals. And with the chooks it’s just so much guessing as to what I might get!

I sure didn’t expect George to be like that also ♥️🥰

Floyd also had the wild poof, I suspect it was a combo of Mr and Marty giving him the poof.

I would love to have a Mr P x Marty daughter but I won’t risk getting another Roo 😢😢😢

Yep, you do all the year-long chicken work while she gets to relax ~ sounds fair 🤔 teehee. That was nice of them to host your visit too. That must've been a long travel to Calif for you.

That's smart on her part re Pits ~ they are great w/people & w/other dogs but they are too hyper for a chicken yard. I would go so far as to say I don't trust having any dog unsupervised around chickens. Even guardian breeds have to go thru training & temperament evaluation before approved as flock guardians. Some dog breeds have great temperaments around livestock while some just aren't cut out for it.

It requires diligent training/patience to merge different animal species. They don't automatically trust each other at the start. But when we see videos of baby animals w/ dogs or kitties we know it's not impossible.
Well to be honest it wasn’t that long a drive, I only had to go from Yuma AZ to Bakersfield 😊 I was visiting mum and we headed over there after breakfast and surprised them, stayed over night and then headed back to Yuma.

Well today was a ‘do odd jobs about’ day. Sits just gone 4PM and the chooks are having a fit out there - I am about to start moving them into the Hen Houses for the night.

Next weekend I will block off the stall walls from roosting on, the youngsters will have to go roost in the hen house or sleep on the floor!

Can’t have Mr P and his ladies running with the main gang until Rosario and Shirley are gone.

Mr P and his ladies were out and about today but I kept an eye on the randy Roos that they were not harassing the wee ladies, I caught Shorley trying to breed Flopsy and he got a good (virtual) kick in the butt. I hope he didn’t hurt her 😞

Her dinner was fabulous. She even thanked me for it. She came over and lightly pecked me on my cheek. (Precious moments)
