I owe kiddo an entire army of chickens, the dog keeps chewing up her schleich ones sadly.

How can puppy chew? I thought his teeth were pulled?

They know where the treats are and how to get them!

Yes. She would burrow under my javket to find the sunflower seeds in my inside pocket.

I have a huge problem with cats eating chicken feed. My neighbors many cats, which are starving, eat the chicken feed. It is bad when a cat will eat whole corn.

That is so sad. We had a feral calico momma brought her single little tiger kitten after dark to eat scraps of cantaloupe the hens didn't finish one day. It was so pathetic. We left them alone.

For the hens' sandbath box DH uses a beach mat cover every night to keep feral cats from using it as their potty box! The cats won't use the sandbox during the day since they are afraid of the hens.

He has most of his chompers still! He had 4 pulled and 4 that never grew in, pomeranians have problems with crowded or missing teeth.
The toys are vinyl, he apparently loves the stuff. Kiddo is getting better at putting toys away now.

Hellooo everyone!... I've probably missed a lot, I check in about once a day but I think the seasonal depression is hitting or something. I don't feel as social.

Everything is going well with my chickens though! Sybil has laid a total of 11 eggs. Nice, thick shells on em! The 4 we've cracked open have had such beautiful orange yolks. Once we have a dozen, dad is going to make omelettes with them! Just 4 more... 4 or 5 more days. Mmm...

Here's a video from a couple days ago. It was cold that day with the wind chill, but they clearly weren't bothered

I have no interest in trying quail, tiny chickens also equal pets.
I have never tried frog legs. Dad has and swears they are delicious and I would love them. Probably never will.
Alligator now that is something I want to try and will someday. I feel it will be very similar to snapping turtles which I love.

Crazy people swear the best white meat around is rattlesnake. No way in H.E.double hockey sticks am I ever eating snake.

In Boy Scouts DH ate rattlesnake ~ yes, tastes like very FATTY chicken ~ never again!

Oooooo, snow pics. We don't have pretty scenery like that in our street!

You once asked about slippery conditions and walking with cleats. Well today we had freezing rain most of the day, and it made the walk to the barn this evening rather treacherous.

Snow may look ‘pretty’ but all I see is more work. I have to wear more clothes (means more laundry), spend money on winter gear (boots, coats, gloves, etc), I have to put on all those clothes to go to the barn, heaven help me if I need to piddle! Have to take it all off go piddle, and pour it all back on again! Have clear snow from the vehicles before driving, clear walkways, and the barn doors.

Getting hay to the horses is more difficult, and have to clear the path to the manure pile, pushing the wheelbarrow through snow is exhausting.

And it’s slippery esp when it melts and suddenly freezes like today, and then gets rain or freezing rain on it.

Driving in it is dangerous, and stressful. The cold makes one exhausted just trying to keep warm, and the heating of the house and businesses causes the air to be super dry, your skin on your hands gets dry and cracks and bleeds, your feet are always cold.

As I sit here typing I am cold and want to curl up with a blanket but I have to get dressed in all that gear and slip slid my way to the barn, oh and do I mention how dark it gets so early?

Saturday they were able to get a bit of dirt bathing done.

And when it became too chilly the girls knew where to warm up
