I'm retired cop so have a pistol but when we moved out here, I bought a 20 gauge.

This is why. We only shoot in the air if we have to. These, we just called the dogs in and they cubs came down and they ran back into the woods.

There's a dead skunk and about a dozen dead red squirrels I could show pictures of too, but I'll not. The red squirrels here, aka tree rats, will climb our house and try to get in. If they do, they'll eat the wiring.

Black bears I am not overly worried about. The mama’s are very protective but not as bad as grizzly mama’s.

Tax for the bears.

Anyone raise paints? I asked in the silkie forum but nobody seems to know.

These two are paints. I have photos of their feet that are mottled black and white as well. The right one's spots were lighter than the left one.

This is the one from the left which you'd expect, a paint.

So no longer a paint or just a paint in disguise? Or could this be a dominant white? They aren't quite 4 months old or I'd just breed 'em to find out.

Curly is a frizzle silkie, but I think splash.

Hard to see her spots.

Her daughter Betty has no spots at all and her Dada is also a splash!

Oh and you can see buttercup to the left - she is a splash and gets more marking every time she moults.

Thank you! That pond is just down the road so really easy to get to. It's one of my favorite places to walk and take pictures

I have no idea what they are... Red fruits, thorny, growing in a marsh. A plant ID site says it could be a rose bush (specifically multiflora rose, invasive). I'll try to remember to look at it again during one of my spring/summer walks so I can see the leaves and flowers, then it'll be easier to identify.

Yes that is a wild rose, if you look closely you can see the thorns on the green stalks. The red ‘berries’ are rose hips, they are the fruit from the flower.

Some rose hips make a lovely tea.

If I had any questions or doubts on whether or not George is the spitting image of his daddy, this picture erased them. Georges cream coloring is really coming in now.

Did the color experts decide that Mr. P is splash? If show, Whatever Mr. P is color wise, George is as well.
