@Ponypoor yeah I noticed whenever I visit family with kids, I feel sicker for a while.

I am supposed to clean the coops today. Hubby is insisting I get them scooped out and sanitized so they'll be ready for chickens. But it's raining! It was supposed to be dry today haha.
It was rainy earlier, but stopped now… foggy though. I opened the barn door but the chooks have no real desire to go outside they don’t like the snow.

Hopefully the snow will be all melted by Monday. I will let them out a bit then. If we don’t get any further frigid temps for the rest of the winter I will be happy.

Oh how neat! It looks just like the black and white furreal kitty! I bet your kiddo is going to have a lot of fun with that ❤️

It is SO naptime...
My poor baby, you can see the resorptive lesions on his teeth :'(

He's still doing alright though. For a while I was worried he wouldn't make it to 2025. Now, I doubt he'll make it another year... But I'm enjoying the time we still have together. He's such a good cat.

Now let's see... Can I get some good pics of my girls?

My DD is top sales w/ a distributor of specialty clothing, household, yard, personal, animal novelties, & she's been stressing to marketers to come up w/ more chicken breeds & more hens than roos in their decor since backyard chickens is a growing trend. They finally listened to her!

A dish towel example due to her efforts for recognizable breeds:

Good for her!

Oh yes auto-sexing with that lovely colour, and dark eggs. I was looking at them a couple years ago and there are none around here.

Hmmmmm

Just noted that Performance Poultry here in Ontario, has Welbars, and also Orloff, and (as I already knew) Dark Brahmas.
Russian Spangled Orloffs are not an ordinary barnyard chicken ~ they are tall birds more gamelike & timid/spookish. But yes, gimme a Brahma or Wellie if I didn't already have quota!

I love the way Wellie males look identical to the Light Brown Leghorn males right down to the small tufts of white feathers at their tail base ~ gorgeous breeds except Wellies give dark eggs & Leghorns white eggs! The Wellies have red ears & Legs have white ears ~ Hard to tell the outward differences other than the ear colors. All chickens are so beautiful it's hard to choose a favourite!!!
