I have some sad news to share, especially for those who followed her journey from the start. Little Piou-piou was killed early this morning by a weasel that broke in the coop.
She was our special little princess and we are heartbroken.
I'll post a tribute when I feel less upset.

So very sorry, Manue! :hugs :hugs :hugs

Hello everyone, I have had a really rough time this Christmas. I became very sick and bed ridden. I left my birds outside to free range and Rudy the rooster never came back home 😩 I almost lost Little CeeCee too, but she found her way home.
I should never have left my birds out unattended. I’m still feeling sickly, but losing my Rudy just makes it harder. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Oh Alex! :hugs :hugs I'm so sorry for your loss. That is very hard. I hope your health keeps improving :hugs ❤️

I would save everyone a slice. The cake is delicious. I know the cheesecakes taste great too, but they have not been cut yet. Saving them for new years.

Of everything we made the other night I am the happiest about the lemon curd. We ended up with 8 half-pint jars full. 7 of them are frozen for later use. I love lemon curd, and we do not strain our we leave the zest in it. To me it is a nice tangy lemon marmalade. Rosie thinks I am nuts but I like to spread a little bit on buttered toast for breakfast.

We have another big case of lemons to sort through. The rewards are worth it. I just dread another several hour date with the zester and a mountain of lemons.
I too am a huge fan of lemon curd. Can eat that stuff by the spoonful. I think you just gave me some life-transforming information however. You can freeze lemon curd? I had no idea!

I've only feed cooked chicken turkey and vegetables to Nancy so far and bought expensive foods for back up.

But they all add copper into these foods. I wish someone would sue these companies for selling toxic feeds.

Copper messes up their red and white blood cells causing kidney and liver failure.

I don't like using the word hate. But I hate loathe and despise these criminals for the amount of harm and heartache they've caused and they still continue to do so.

Same said for our human food providers they are a disgrace to humanity, all of them.

If someone deliberately poisons someone they go to prison. So how can these fends keep doing this
Copper is an essential nutrient and at least in the US is required to be added to dog food.
I believe there is some debate about how much copper is necessary, vs safe, vs excessive.

According to what mom read as long as you properly let it cool down first you can then freeze it. We let is sit about 8 hours in the fridge before we froze it.

Sorry to hear that Alex. Hope you are on the mend.

I usually make a lemon curd tart for Easter - the recipe is completely indulgent and there is usually just a little bit of lemon curd left over that I sneakily consume with a tea spoon (chef's privilege!). I could make double the amount and freeze half of it. I will give it a go!
