Yes, it's painful but hilarious at the same time, because the vet rushed out too help me first before dealing with Nancy Rose's vaccines and chip.

I'm surprised how lovely these people were at this vets. They are much closer to home. She's due her her second vaccinations next month.
Hopefully you won’t fall down again next month. As we age, we don’t bounce back like we used to.
Last year’s hard landing, would probably hospitalize me today if it happened again

Any guesses on the predator? Came out of the woods, wandered around the yard some, went back into the woods. Prints are too large to be a house cat. In the first picture I can tell it stopped for a short time because the prints are side-by-side, whereas while it was moving it was one print in front of the other. I'm thinking feline because of that... But it's hard to tell because the tracks got partially filled with new snowfall. I don't see evidence of claws so I don't think it's a canine or mustelid. I saw these same prints the other day (maybe closer to a week ago) but they just stopped at a certain point, right up by the side garage door and next to the chicken shelter we built.

Whatever this was, as I was following the tracks around the yard it looked like the animal was hunting. It was mixed with deer tracks here and there but there's no way the thing is big enough to bring down a white tail. It went under the deck and one point and came back out at another. No tracks near the run.

I'm so curious and interested to find out what this thing is! Any ideas? Should I post it in the predators forum?
Maybe it’s the dreaded Chupacabra!

We did that....
Same here. They were technically bought at the same time but the coop wasn't picked up until the next day haha.
The hard part right now is not getting eggs until I get the brooder coop built and insulated...technically they WOULD brood inside for at least a week in the old lizard cage...

I considered that! I'll have to do more research, look for pics of bobcat prints in the snow to compare. That would actually be pretty cool. I've never noticed signs of them around before!
They're super cool! We had bobcats, foxes, and maybe a lynx in our backyard when I was a kid, at various times. Now it's mostly coyotes in the forest out back.

Am I the only one who had a pen for the new arrivals? Though to be fair to everyone else having the barn it was easy.

But, I think everyone forgets that when they bought their first chickies they were tiny and didn’t require huge housing. Then as they became larger you ‘figured it out’ and built a facility that worked for you.

And I think all of you did an amazing job! And I am happy to say I have borrowed many of your ideas 😊
Our story is chronicled here. Read from the start.

I thought at first I had broken my nose but thankfully not. It's swollen and my knee is. I lost a lot of blood but it looked worse than it was. I might have black eyes later my nose is swollen.

I did a salt nasel wash and caster oil on my cuts
Oh my! Please be careful. You certainly don't want to fall again while recovering. :hugs :hugs :hugs
