I love wyandottes. I'm glad I have a couple, they're spunky little stinkers

And yeah, they're built different. They're round as heck! I love it! Gytha is closer to the wyandotte standard I think, when it comes to body shape.

Magrat isn't as round. And she's so tiny!

We got about 4inches of snow over night, the most we've had since we moved here (4.5 years ago). Front door has 6 inches due to wind. I kept my snow shovel and I used it today

I am tired of cold weather too and it looks like temps will be normal again starting Sunday. Can't wait!!

Roads don't get plowed here. Schools are having a snow day. It seems like they have to remain closed for the rest of the week. It is not melting until Sunday.

Poor babies have never seen snow. They were super afraid. They are all crowded up near the coop, the area that has no snow. Poopy has gone back inside coop.

You peeps think you have problems! My Dakota insists on listening to 80s rock music. If I play anything else, she throws a redheaded fit! Do you know what torture it is to hear “Africa” over and over?

I have personal enmity with that song. It gets stuck in my head and drives me nuts!

That is it, I am done being patient with this weather and not complaining.

It is 2F right now. The horses are fed and watered along with the chickens. We have had to carry water for over 2 weeks now due to the water hose being frozen. I slipped halfway to Russ's stall carrying his water and soaked one of my pant legs and shoe. Rosie was supposed to go back to school January 7th. She is still home, bored out of her mind at this point. I am done, done you hear me with this weather. I am sick of snow, I am sick of ice. Snow has gone back on my "do not say that word or I will hurt you" list.

All joking aside, I do commiserate with you, have many a time had cold water sloshed down my boots also.

A heated bucket (yep there is such a thing!) that you plug-in is everyone’s friend, it has a built in de-icer. As is a water trough de-icer, I keep expecting mine to fail any day now, I have had it forever.

I love the heated waterer I have for the chooks, great invention and the heat lamps and panels are awesome. I hang out by them as much as the chooks hahaha.

Doing chores in the snow and cold is just extra added work, and the cold hands and feet are just miserable.

Tell Rosie if she were here she would be back to school, no snow/cold days here! Unless it’s a bad snow squall with whiteout conditions.

You still have leaves on the trees?! I am surprised they didn’t break branches from snow load.
