And we've gotten a couple inches in the past few hours... Just looking at this picture I can hear them in there complaining, "come on, let us out!!"

My gang would like to get out, but too cold and too much snow. I cleared off Mount Poopmore a bit for the sun to get to, but unless it shines for a few days it will stay covered in snow.

We had an inch of snow last night. Good thing I have several weeks before I need the growout coop because I won't be building it today.
Hubby was going to go assess the repairs needed for the run but again, weather isn't cooperating. Oh well, we have time. We won't need that run finished for a few months, because I will move the youngins over to the original brown coop+small run extension when they are off heat.

Sooo just want to bring up a safety note regarding you power cord and that natural gas meter. I may be seeing something that isn’t there, but I would be remiss if I didn’t explain.

I hope that the cord isn’t wrapped around it, and also you shouldn’t have anything within 3’ of that meter.

But the power cord esp should be kept away from it, if there were a leak from the pipe, and that power cord wrapped around the metal piping creates and electro magnet - it could spark a fire, also if any gas were leaking it would vent into your run and coop.

This is why these intake and exhaust pipes are to be located 3’ from doors and windows.

In the Spring you may want to move the coop to a safer location.

But if that power cable is wrapped around the pipe I would remove it as soon as possible.

My rooster, he sure is loud in the morning. I bet all the ladies hate hearing his obnoxious crowing every morning. He doesn’t understand the words “shut up!”

The cord isn't wrapped around the power meter but I'll bring it up with my dad and see if we can't prop it up above it somehow.

Unfortunately dad and I had no say in where the run was built. Uncle paid for everything, uncle decided what and when and where and how. I thought that might be a safety concern but I can't say anything, he won't listen. He is very much a "my way or the highway" type of man, and of course he knows everything

But since we do plan on making some changes in the spring anyway, I'll also bring that up!

Right shoulder

That must be a good size to be visible thru feathers. Cysts can start as fluid-filled bumps that draining can be done w/antiseptic. But who knows w/active little wild game bird chicks if you cant catch them to check? Wish you had a poultry-knowledgeable vet near you. DH & I have really been helped a lot by our vet for situations when we felt so helpless.

@TOMTE I totally understand having to do things someone else's way.
Hopefully you can do any alterations needed to stay safe though. I love how it's snug to the building, feels extra safe to me.
