YAY! Glistening black feathers & blue earlobes ~ what a pair of cuties!
From what I have saw of them they are adorable. I cannot wait to get a real good look at them when they are out strutting around.

I am thrilled with the boys, perfectly happy.

They were housed with another boy that she is keeping from the group of chicks she hatched. I do not know if it is a approved color, and frankly I saw it in person and I do not care. She has a chocolate silkie cockerel. Understandably he and her chocolate hens and pullets are not going anywhere. This year, she is planning on offering up chocolate chicks that she hatches. I will not get any this year. Next year though. Well, next year a chocolate pullet may be in order. Or this fall if she has some grow outs to place.

I have found me a new silkie friend and enabler, who is only 30 minutes away.

@BY Bob,

I have figured out what you are up too. You are keeping Queen Aurora distracted by showing her my silkies. She can issue royal decree after royal decree that silkies are not real chickens all she wants. If she is focused on putting me in my place she will not notice until it is too late that the "other" not real chickens have once again rejoined her flock.

Sneaky. Very, very sneaky.

I shall do my part. I will have to post lots of pictures of my feather duster Pomeranian's with beaks to keep her sidetracked for you.

As Aurora’s national guard, I beg to differ. Our Queen is correct in saying that Silkies are not really chickens. They are dust collectors. I will give them credit for that. Even Walmart sells Silkies, isle 14 next to the mops and floor cleaners

They are getting big!

Penelope update

Penelope isn’t do very well, I gave her some pain meds, but I feel she is just winding down. These old ladies, they are very frail. I toyed with giving her some amoxicillin, but it’s a balancing act with these geriatric chooks. I also gave her a hot water bottle.

Sophia also is looking rather depressed, I gave her some pain meds also. And I put her in with Mr P and his gang.

Lots to worry about with these fragile ladies.

Sending healing thoughts to Penelope.

I have missed what has been wrong with her unless it's the molt ?
