The ayam cemani eggs from my other order are a pale peachy color. Cochins have a reputation for laying smallish eggs, but not sure about the bantams. I would assume also small. Bielefelders are a new one for me, but looking it up perfect for my breeding program (dual purposes)

Bielefelders will be brown eggs. Look for head spots in brown/blonde fluff on chicks. The blonde will be roos (if they're pure bred).

My Bielefelder eggs are darker brown than my Australorps', and are definitely larger. 65-70 grams, usually.

How did they manage to keep the eggs warm during shipping? Did they use a warmer ? Like those hand warmers?

So: The decision has been reversed. Chickens are happening this year. I had waaayy too many people enabling me. I would like to do something like The Burrow (over in articles) in terms of coop. I think it is a very practical design for my needs. In terms of chickens, I want Chocolate Orpingtons, Easter Eggers, a Blue Australorp, a Buff Orpington, Bielefelder, and  maybe a Chocolate Orpington Rooster. About 8 chickens. Maybe 10. It had been 4-6,  but then the list grew, and when I think I could slim the list a bit, it grows. Chicken math! Now, to plan and begin the build and order the babies.

Did an air cell check. 2 had none I could see (but I am inexperienced) and the marans are so dark I couldn't see anything inside!
My little incubator doesn't want to come up to temp, but I realized I filled it with cold water...that might be why it's struggling. Hubby said if it isn't good in the morning I can go buy a new one, tsc has the same model my cousin is letting me borrow.
He also bought me a new 3d printer that can print in 4 colors! And can be expanded to print 16!!! It's nuts!

I am quite excited! I had wanted Jubilee Orpingtons as my special chicken breed, but a coop and $40 chicks weren't quite in the budget. Chocolate Orpingtons were beautiful too, and half the cost.
