Thanks for the info. I just remembered having them with the childhood chickens so I thought they were good.

Yeah, I used to get night terrors. I learned how to lucid dream to deal with them so thankfully most of my nightmares end up with me in control.
This is a skill that I really need to learn! . Lately I have been having flashbacks of dangerous situations I have been in. back then I was fearless and indestructible. Things were different back then.

My niece dropped by with the work truck and plowed out the driveway and up to the barn, while up there she accidentally went into a deep drift and buried her truck.

I had to get Ol Blue and the tow chains and haul her out, took a couple tries, we had to dig a lot of the snow away from the truck, it was about 3’ deep at least. You don’t realize how deep it is with these drifts as they are gradual getting deep.

But we got her out. I gave her a fresh loaf of homemade bread some banana bread and slice of toasted buttered bread to have then.

We laughed when she told us that she dropped in to her place in town to do her driveway and three people hit her up to do their driveways when they saw her there. Of course in town it’s one swipe with the truck to clear those tiny. Driveways, she made $150 cash 😁

After she left I still had to feed the horses and then dig out the manure pile path and around the water trough. Empty the wheelbarrows and put the chooks to bed. I still have to clear out the barn doors better and clear a path from the house to the back drive to the barn. That will have to wait till Saturday.

Snow just makes everything so much harder. Even those with homes in town have to clear snow, I bet those three people who my niece cleared their drives feel that $50 is a bargain rather than spending a couple hours shoveling snow!

A rhode island red (for @featherhead007 )and a light brahma. I did talk kiddo out of the full set (black australorp and silver laced wyandotte)
I placed them under the brooder plate and they immediately settled in and went to sleep.
I will keep an eye on them but I've heard good things about ~2 week age difference integration. I will likely end up making a tub brooder when the lizard cage is outgrown.
Am I seeing a faint head spot on the sapphire sky (blue) chick? If so, you're going to have a blue striped bird...and possibly very lightly striped (like pinstripes). Cute!

I guess I wouldn't get much sympathy from you having to trudge a couple 100 yards in our 3" of snow. :lau

Oh my… and I was just going to whine about the foot that is slowly melting here! 😂 after a few days of freezing the poor Water Chickens were more than ready to resort to improvised ponds… aka water buckets, and that was even before the white stuff hit!
