TY you for the recommendation ~ the castor oil is so soothing on the surgery scar. I had to wait a few weeks before Dr removed the clear tape cover on the stitches & then I was able to use the oil. My DS came by for a visit & asked if I was using lotion. I said, No, castor oil was better & not greasy ~ I think the skin absorbs it. I got a lot of muscle/ligament pain from therapy exercise stretching so I hope the oil helps alleviate discomfort too.

I found out if I have an Ayam Cemani rooster and breesse hen I can make zombies!!! The boys will have pink skin so they auto-sex too.
My mother in law would like a leghorn hen or two for eggs, I might have brown leghorns in the ebay eggs.
White Legs are the most prolific egg layers of L/XL eggs while other Leg varieties are not as prolific ~ ok layers but not as prolific as White Legs. Though not as prolific as White Legs the Light Brown Legs will probably have less reproductive issues & longer lifespans but there is the big floppy comb to deal with.

An enabler suggestion:
Welsummers look identical to Light Brown Legs, have a smaller no flop straight comb, & rather than plain white eggs the Wellies lay a speckled terra cotta egg quite pretty.

We'll have to see what hatches. I have large white eggs growing from the mystery dozen, I have a feeling they are brown leghorns. They would have to be gigantic to be polishes from the breed list haha.

Kiddo has discovered a game to play with the chicks using her chewy necklace.

I hope you get a Brown Leghorn.
They are fantastic birds

They are beautiful! I've avoided them at the store because they're a production breed...but maybe a heritage one will be healthier. :)
I am worried about those big ol face flappies with how cold and soggy we get out here.

Considering my mother-in-law wants 2 leghorns, if I don't hatch any I will have to purchase some, and have her pay me back with a bag of feed.
A beautiful alternative to Light Brown Leghorns with big floppy combs are the Welsummer hens that look identical to Light Brown Legs but have smaller straight combs that are not floppy & lay pretty speckled terra cotta eggs

I like my birds feisty and flighty

That towel rack does need a place to hang, but it’s in the chickens room for now. I recently re-wallpapered the bathroom and I don’t want to punch holes in it yet.
Random thought, maybe the other bathroom 🤔
