I used this same report for my presentation. Note that Massachusetts shows no cases on the map, nor does CT...but CT. has had 2 cases (near the coast), and Massachusetts has had one @ UMass Amherst(geese on their on-campus pond - not 'cared for', but also not wild - most likely ones that were dumped at some point.). Umass is about 25 miles as the crow flies - not very far, and lots of waterways close (think CT river)

Note that when I accessed it on Feb 3rd, there were only 4 & 3 flocks respectively in Feb. Now there are 38 & 25 respectively in Feb (commercial versus backyard). So very, very scary!

I also find it deeply improbable that NJ has had no cases while sitting in the middle of all those states with cases. I think reporting isn't happening in NJ so the data isn't telling the true story.

Little Red is vicious! With how protective she is of the other three...if she crows I won't be surprised. My kid keeps saying "my little red rooster" uh oh...
Kiddo says I need to name my two before tomorrow when she gets up because she doesn't know their names. Talk about pressure!
I don't think Blackbird and Whitebird will do...hmm...

And how many times did people's reports not get noted? I wonder if the lady even entered mine in, since I had no bodies for testing. She didn't offer to do fecal tests or anything else like that.

There are Canadian geese all over the place here right now. They seem to be unsure as to whether go north or south.

They are not likely to come this way anytime soon due to the frigid weather, and deep snow. I have not see one flock flying anywhere in a month.

There is no food for them, and no open water close to shore. Even the gulls seem to have disappeared.

Yet there have been cases of owls and birds in the Rouge valley here about an hr from me. This terrifies me.
