As a Newfoundlander the sea is in our soul. My parents threw us into the water as small kids and we learnt how to swim real fast!

Boating sailing. Fishing. Did it all.

My fun thing was to hang off the boat as dad sailed along and get dragged along. Don’t let go! Or you had to tread water while he came about so we could grab hold and get dragged again😊 I grew up on fresh water, but I have swam in salt water too. The smell of brine, yep it’s something you are born with maybe.

To each their own, we all have a collective of experiences that make us all unique and valuable with this knowledge. It would be a boring place without everyone being different!

Just look at all our pets! Everyone of them has a different personality, and that’s what make them so much fun.
I'm half Viking and and 1/4 ish ship builder (in the other half). It's no wonder I married a sailor and 2 of the kids went that route too.

I REMEMBER ~ & SPOT too ❣️

When I was 10 I was swept away from shore by a riptide w/ my friend. TG we had an inner tube flotation for us to hang onto before we struggled back to shore many many yards away that our folks didn't find us till we got ourselves back to shore exhausted! If we did not have that huge tube to hang onto ~ we both felt the tide pulling us down & out to sea beyond the waves!

Another horrible day at the beach ~ my skinny sis hated it as much as I did! Pop LOVED the ocean & fishing.

We had those.

No love lost for me regarding cold oceans, storms, damp weather, fishy smells, mossy shorelines, or windy-sandy beaches.

I like my weather balmy, green, w/ open spaces, trees, & sweet livestock/barnyard animals ❣️

Land lubbers, Gezz. 🤦‍♂️. I grew up near the beach. I surfed, I scuba dived, I deep sea fished, hunted for the elusive blonde beach baby.
Too much information yeah I know, but that’s my younger childhood.
Pirate blood flows through my veins. Arggg! My brother also.
