After a week of crazy Kentucky weather that resulted in deadly floods then near zero temperatures my girls kept on laying. 3 dozen eggs from them. It warmed up today and the majority of the snow has melted. The week ahead looks about the same as last week. Warm up, then heavy rains again with more possible flooding and then at the end of the week temps plummet and more snow. It is perfect timing and weather to go broody in didn't you know. Goose is the first broody of the year. She of course is a tough cookie to break but break her I will this go around. Give me a month and a half pretty girl, let us finally head into spring and I promise you eggs. In normal screaming banshee Goose fashion she was plucked from her nest this evening and placed on the roost in the coop. She is going to be ticked in the morning. Her nest was in the building, the only hen who is laying in there. After I put her on the roost I shut the doors and they will remain shut. I'm hoping she does not take her typical 2 to 3 weeks to break, but Goose is Goose. She will probably plop herself down on the building ramp screaming at everyone that walks by angrily.
looks pretty healthy to me. I'll still see about a float test and picking up some wormer though.
