Any kind of peppermint or eucalyptus can ease breathing, definitely placing that under the wings will put it next to their face when roostingI'm not sure what you can do for him. I would post this in the emergencies thread. However, I will say that when I have heard someone sneeze, usually during the rainy season, I add a few drops of VetRX to their drinking water and that seems to clear it up. It doesn't hurt the other chickens at all. But, you can also dab a drop or two under his wings and he'll get it when he preens. Here's what Meyer Hatchery says about it: https://blog.meyerhatchery.com/2021/06/the-many-uses-of-vet-rx/
Start by looking at the ingredients in the Kalmbach feed versus what you were using before. We feed Kalmbach 20% flock maker. Treats like table scraps, veggies, fruits, oats, and dried bsfl only occasionally. The eggs we ate were all from the past 2 or 3 days so I doubt they were bad, but we'll start doing the float test before we use them.
I thought at first it was because of the milk grandma used in the scrambled eggs (I'm lactose intolerant and she never thinks to use my lactose free milk), but dad pointed out that I also had the same reaction when we had plain fried eggs.
It's so weird! These eggs are so delicious but my stomach HATES them!
Lock him in the run/coop with his flock. The chooks have been good at staying out of the rain today, except for that knuckle headed rooster, he’s wet all over.![]()
I love Silkie picsI use scissors, but then my gang is used to being handled and I am used to handling them.
For the wee silkies topknots I trim with scissors but pluck the feathers near their eyes with my fingers. The Baby dumplings sure didn’t appreciate my doing that this past weekend. But I am sure they like seeing a bit better. Still need to trim their topknots.
But I really want to get photos of them while they are looking all cute and fuzzy.
