How cute! You used a Crayola color for "Cadet" !!!
Yes! I had to, they're a little lighter than Navy but have a flat comb. In fact, I think Delft may be the only straight comb among the silkies. Might get a legbar flop too!
Hubby heard the tiny cockadoodledoo today, we can't figure out who they are. Little testosterone filled bug haha

And Navy. Do we all see bronze shoulders coming in?

Navy is way better about being held. I thought of grabbing Periwinkle too but the dog was getting riled up and it was spooking the chicks. Periwinkle has a two-tone flat comb and white chest still.

I thought for sure my flock had mycoplasma, youngsters were getting the sickest, weird eggs, bubbly eyes and labored, whistly breathing.
But then everyone died all at once so I guess it was AI instead. 🤷
Sorry, this isn't helpful. But your symptoms line up with mycoplasma in my opinion too. It hits fertility and the young the worst.
Not unhelpful though, thanks. Hazel is the only one with eyes like this. Annie clears her nares a lot to this day. Tedi sometimes sneezes. Diane is unaffected, it appears.

But it was only Annie that got seriously sick at seven weeks, of the three chicks. Hazel wasn’t symptomatic at that time (maybe I didn’t notice). Annie never had wheezy breathing, but there were some bloody poos in the brooder, she was off, and the vet suspected coccidiosis and we started Corid. She then developed bad conjunctivitis, itchy eyes that bled, but without much bubbles, and had some kind of real blindness. Even when trying to eat she could not find the cups. I would hold it near her and tap it, and she would come over, then I’d hold it up right in front of her and keep tapping it to give her a source, and she would wildly, weakly peck in a whole-body fashion, to one side or the other, and I would try to adjust the cup position until she hit food (or water). She was very weak and only really tried to eat in earnest once I started antibiotics. She otherwise ruffled her feathers and stood hunched in a dark corner facing away, into the darkest spot.

Testing by the vet only a few days after starting antibiotics (I’d have to check the exact timing) came up negative for everything.

TY 4 asking ~ Surgeon removed restrictions for lifting but therapy exercises are needed to build up strength & mobility. Still have to use Bone Stimulator another 2 months. 4 therapy appts per week for 6 weeks & my house looks like a gymnasium w/all the little exercise gadgets DH gets me each time he sees what the therapists use on me ~ teehee ❣️

I still can't hold a Silkie but DH brings one in daily for me to give treats & pet. Adorable little buggers!

I am thrilled to hear the dr has lifted restrictions. Just thrilled!

Give it time, work really hard, but don’t over do it ♥️

Soon you will be out chasing down chooks in no time 😊

As fragile as they are, the chicks are healing me. Hearing their little peeps throughout the day, being able to go check on them, it's all helping with the pain of last fall.
They sure haven't let me get too down even about losing one yesterday, which is nice.
