That is so sweet...& born in snow weather! How do they stay warm enough? Must be a hardy breed 🩷
I think his mom licked him off so his fur was dry, and he just got a bit of snow on him.
I don't know if Red Angus is a hardy breed, because I don't know much about cows...

Pony Sunday

A few minutes after this video a hawk made an appearance. Looks like a Red Tail, hopefully not taking up residence here.

The crows were very vocal, along with me out there jumping around waving my arms 😆 hope my neighbours don’t see me doing that!

He/she looks cold... @CCsGarden would know
Pigeons are extremely hardy - it always amazes me that there were pigeons in Fort McMurray! Temps there are regularly around -43C in the winter! Who knew pigeons were tough!

For pony Sunday I bring you another picture of Brisket. This was taken right after he was born. It was the first picture that I took of him.

Bit early in the season to be born, but cattle are generally pretty tough, like horses they are plains animals, they like cold dry/hot dry weather. They do not so well in wet rainy conditions.

I can’t wait for my neighbours calves to be born, they are all born during the same week. Little black angus calves 😊

I was just surprised that it looks so cold for calving. I just assumed mammals like deer, elk, bovine, equine, feline, etc, birthed in warmer parts of spring & not winter. Those fur coats they wear must be protecting.

I don’t see them in NJ either. But I am not home at the moment and they are big here (I mean literally huge!).
We do have pigeons around here and in old barns especially but I don’t feed them and they can’t get into my loft.

They are very smart and highly adaptable. I like them.
