It was like that the other day here. I felt bad because in the morning it was pretty calm but it was chilly and I didn't feel like sitting out with them. So I kept telling them "later, girls, later!"... But then it got too windy

This young lady laid two eggs yesterday.

Seriously, two eggs.
Well maybe it is really only 1.5 eggs.

Super storm cell just hit us here with thunderstorms and lightning hail and fat rain, wind gusts and chill. Wow!
I put the birds away safely in the coop, just as it started

We're getting your leftover storms in rainy sprinkles only. A little wind but not Santa Ana type.

Oh I forgot. She is also getting ready to go broody. The nest is lined with lots of pretty black fluff.
Trouble is, I looked at my travel schedule and I don’t think I am going to be able to give her chicks this time.
I can’t give her eggs because of Marek’s and I have to be here in case she doesn’t accept chicks.

Two dumplings - they are now coming to 13 weeks old. Boy? Girl? Mr LC tried to have his wicked ways with both of them - does he know something I don’t?

And these two lovely ladies - Ruth and Blanche - were enjoying the green grass, and to think last week this had a foot of snow on it!

Note: if you look closely at Blanche you will see that her dark feathers are white tipped, this has only started a couple yrs ago, every moult she gets more, now almost all her dark feathers are white tipped on her body. I like it

Every moult is a surprise for us too! Keep us posted w/Blanche.

Holly has round head/tail. Jolly....not the Einstein wild, especially compared to Barbosa and Davy. Mr LC could very easily know something you don't. He could also be a Hormonal Idiot.

Personally, I'm leaning pullet for both of them.

I am too...but Silkies still can surprise
