What a great mum! She knows where it is safe to raise little ones.I now can prove that they did hatch on my property. Under a junk pile next to my house.View attachment 4084976View attachment 4084977

The magic is in the trying, and not just the end result!ASTER!!!!!
Last weekend I planted Pansies as spring was officially here.

Every year Phyllis and I would have this thing where I would plant flowers in a square planter in front of the coop and she would pull them out so she could dust bathe in it.
With Phyllis having passed I thought that I would try some pansies in that pot. I had 3 left so in they went.
Well apparently Aster finds them tasty.

It's currently 82°F (28°C). I am sitting out with the ladies under the magnolia tree for the first time this year. Blueberries have been devoured. Now it is on to grass.Miserable miserable miserable out there, had a few hrs of the rain letting up a bit, the chooks were in and out during that time. But it started really pouring again so they all ran back inside.
Of course they were all soaked, I put the heat lamp on to help them warm up, and dry off.
The horses can come in also in an hr - no sense bringing them in early Truly will just trash her stall.
Thankfully it’s just rain and not the freezing rain they called for.
Clyde dried off pretty fast!

Maleficent was like that. I have a lot of respect for the thieves of the chicken world.Once In Albis snuck up behind me, jumped up while perfectly squishing in between my arm which was blocking her, grabbed a piece of turkey off my sandwich, fell to the floor, and ran off with the food.
