That’s perfect! You don’t have to mow the grass!
We never mowed the grass in 40 yrs. Got tired of gardeners cutting our hoses w/ their mowers & we could only afford them 2x/month anyway & stopped hiring them.

The weeds grew tall & fast...

But now we have no more weeds or sloppy gardeners!

The idiot next door is trying to call mama hen and the two chicks. If he gets them, then I have five orphans on my hands.
There’s no agreeable solution for working with that neighbor.
I told him specifically that he would be trespassing if he came on my property. The sheriff has been notified of the situation, but no law has been broken according to the (evidence code) I’m ready with my camera.
But what good will it do? He’s mentally unstable.
My Mom warned me not to mess w/ poop & it won't stink💩. Don't mess w/ mental instability & it won't get stinky.

But then you have law experience & know best how to handle your situation.

Stink tx
DH cleared Garden Bed #1 for fall root veggies ~ chickens can't resist fresh turned dirt! So glad their poop is good fertilizer. Bags of chicken manure aren't cheap any more & carry too many weed seeds!

@rural mouse splash? He's getting BLUE feathers like actual blue ones. May have been the lighting 😆 his father is a colombian pattern...and his grandparents are a grey-blue silkie and a crested cream legbar hen.

He is also getting them, but no white coming in

Had to ziptie it to the run because they knocked it over earlier. Much prettier than folded blankets draped over.

There's one of the blue feathers on Cadet.

Settling in, almost fell asleep but one of the marans boys hopped up and she woke up.
Splash actually looks WHITE (like Bob's Aster, several of @Ponypoor adventures, and my Blanche and PITA), which he clearly isn't. Hmmmm....legbar carries the barring gene and BBR...Columbian does some odd things....and can hide some things....12 week moult can produce major changes and look really odd in the midst of....silkies have been played with for so many variations....curiouser and curiouser...

OMG, Major research is being done tonight. George has either mites or lice. Either way he has creepy crawlies all over his head poof and in his neck feathers. I ended up having creepy crawlies on me from snuggling him when I got home to put him up. I do not do creepy crawlies in no shape form or fashion. I figure I need something to treat them all now, and the coops. I want pesticides, I'm not going with natural remedies. Death to the creepy crawlies.

First time with a bug issue in 6 years of having chickens so I am fortunate. I always heard crested breeds were prone to getting them and George is my first true crested chicken.
Permethrin 10 mix with some water. Spray it directly on the feathers and under the wings and tail area, let it dry by itself.
Then get a tinfoil hat and run around chanting “bug be gone, go away. No more bugs on birds today!”
Then you have to clean out the coop bedding and spray everything and everywhere.
Sorry that you have to experience this.

I wonder if you water those pavers, you’d grow some little mosaic tiles? 🤔

Does he have an actual mental illness? Sometimes, we react to people with mental illness like it is how they are choosing to behave (completely normal to think that), but they are unable to stop the thoughts of actions they have. There may be a way to work with your neighbor if we understood more.
