I thought I was in a different thread when I posted about my new shoes and big feet! :lauGlad I didn't post something more personal!
This is Button, last summer... I think? But she doesn't look like she's aged a single day.:)

Yes I know Turmeric oil is good at preventing attachment and I have a shampoo with it for me.
Do be careful with Nancy - you know many essential oils as well as having beneficial effects are toxic particularly to dogs and cats.
I mix with caster or sunflower oil. I'm trying not to overdo the flea and tick spot on

I have just found this mix for ticks a fleas.

100% silver and gold laced. Now whether they're bantam wyandottes or sebrights ...coming from a feed store....major hatcheries. Quick browse through several....golden cochins also exist....only bantam wyandottes I can find are black, Columbian and blue laced red.

You have silver and gold Sebrights. Unless one or both gold have feathered feet in which case you have a golden cochin.
The gold laced both have extremely feathered feet, lol. So sounds like the must be Cochin bantams.

I love sand in the summer, i found it kept the coop dry and clean and super easy to clean out. Also great for keeping bugs at bay. In the winter it is cold though so we switch to shavings.
I switched to sand (concrete/large grain sand) last year. Overall I like it. If I keep it scooped out at least a few times a week there is little odor. Natural source of grit. They love dust bathing in it. Muck less dust. And I also read some of the studies on the dangers of long-term use of pine shavings. When I do need shavings, like for nest boxes and brooders, I have started using Aspen shavings.

We did a complete change out of sand last month. Yes it is work, but only has to be done 1-2 times a year. The old sand is good for the run, or to till into the garden to help with our hard ground that turns to black sticky goo when wet.

Essential oils are much more concentrated that what they're derived from. Also, oils and water do not mix. Any source that says dilute oil in water is suspect in my mind. This includes any source that says to injest or apply straight or "neat". Given that the Purina site says turmeric spice is ok in small doses, I would be steering clear of essential oil form due to more concentrated form.

Oils don't blend in water. It says to mix in distilled water and witch Hazel. It also says sprays can be licked off fur., causing a dog to ingest the oils. If you're spraying it on the floor under Nancy Rose's bed, or on the wall around it and giving it time to dry while she's away from it, good. If you're planning on spraying her....not so good.

It happens to me too. Thanks for the great photo.

Mr P screaming good morning hahaha

I have posted him on Kijiji so hopefully someone will be interested in him.

I should say I posted Jolly, not Mr P!
Hmm...just thinking out loud...List Holly & Jolly together so Jolly isn't placed cold turkey alone plus Holly might miss him & Georgie is her only closest relative. Mr P is so laid back Jolly (or Clyde) might be your stronger flock protectors in the long run? Silkie boys are incredible plus he's a non-frizzle for mating your frizzle girls. My ONLY regret about a Silkie roo is their crowing so I'm prohibited from keeping one 🙁My Violet was never the same when we had to give Trumpet back. I don't know what was worse ~ seeing Trumpet's confusion taken away or Violet's loneliness figuring out which non-Silkie hen to pair up with ~ we had to get another same age Silkie pullet for her to pair up with. Silkies are a real stick-together kind of breed.

Violet w/ a new pullet "Mini" ~ it wasn't a close bond like w/ Trumpet but Violet & Mini were always toodling together~ it's been a Silkie thing for us to note over the yrs.
