What a great idea!
I am excited about it. Basically I am lashing branches together or staking them to the ground and then weaving them together at the top.
It is already a real shelter but I will get it much denser on top to provide a real hiding spot for them.

Earthquake!
It was a small, gentle, rolling quake, but one none the less. What makes this different is that the chooks were awake. I saw four of them standing by the door, looking concerned but not having a big panic like the last quakes. Feliictas was sitting on the perch like she didn't care about anything. I don't recall ever having a quake when the chooks were awake, so it's been interesting to see just how little they care while awake.

My cats and the horses all slept through a 4.2 quake we had here! So much for the theory animals get all anxious before an earthquake.

I want to see what the chooks do when another one rolls through here. I am betting they just ignore it also. Maybe it’s just really big devastating quakes that make animals anxious….?

As speaker attorney for the prosecution, the defendant did bloody one chick and scared the others out of their wits. He’s not quite locked up yet but soon will be. The other ones are settling down for the night. I don’t want any more trouble or drama
As this is a first offense I would argue for supervised release.

I had the impression that you were in Texas? I'm sorry if I was wrong about that, or that I didn't know that Texas had seismic activity.
