I've not had a Polish rooster so all of my knowledge is through others. They do seem to be friendly and take good care of their ladies. I do know they can be extremely brave and will fight larger animals to save their flock, even when other roosters run. This might be Mr Pompei's issue as he keeps taking on other tougher roosters.
The older he gets the worse he is!

Keeping him separated is working well.

Angel turned into a little Spitfire (that's the name of a plane too 🛩️ ) & she flies well too ~ as most bantams seem very capable. So cute!

As for the sweet little CornishX people have processed them anywhere from 6 to as late as 9 weeks depending on how much difficulty the birds are having in movement or health issues. My friend had 12 chicks & half of them died for various reasons by 8 weeks but the 6 left were avg 5-lbs after processing. Waiting till the chicks were older was risking losing all of them.
Do you plan on keeping a roo? (Nestle). Those Choc Orp roos are big beautiful balls of fluff!

Oh sure, he’s big fat and beautiful too, but is he smart?

Buffy was just chatting to him about going to bed, but the divider had fallen so they were locked out. Had to go open it and a stream of chicks came running through 😆

Big girl fits on there quite well!

I was going to take a trip tomorrow to see my sister in San Diego, but the doctors office called and said that I have a MRi appointment tomorrow. I didn’t schedule it, but they had an opening.
This means, flight canceled because of more important issues that cannot be ignored. 😢 maybe after the session, I can still go? :idunno 🛩️
