This evening will be lockdown for my eggs! I am going to try the egg carton hatch method again, it keeps the mess contained and prevents the chicks from rolling each other over as they hatch.

That said, say a prayer if you feel led to...my allergic hives are back and worse than before so I'll be heading into urgent care to see what they think. All this push to natural ingredients has companies using citrus in everything which I am highly allergic to. Yuck

Kiddo and Marble last night. He does not pay her much attention, he trusts the fence will keep everyone safe.

Lots of wattles in this image, but none of them want wattle rubs
Hope you are feeling better today!!

I decided to let the kids stay in the house for tonight. I got lazy and didn’t return them to the run.
I almost brought the dumplings in the feedroom and put in the crate they would settle, I was worried they would get on the floor and not be able to get back up. They really need to learn how to hop up there. Georgie can hop/flap up from the floor! Maybe I have babies these chicks too much…..

Everyone was very subdued this morning, they were missing Shirley. Clyde and Mr LC were looking for him.

My older ladies stayed in the Hen House roosting - they didn’t bother getting up. It’s likely they are happy he isn’t here to pester them anymore.

This afternoon we locked the chooks out of the coop and let the ducks run around for awhile. They are getting huge. Hoping to get their duck coop up this weekend. Their names are now Cypress, Aspen, Willow, and of course Lucky. They are getting much tamer.

Left the top off the bantam pen to let them out if they wanted. For the most part they stayed in, one would fly out every now and then but then go back in. Except for little Angel. She wasn’t happy unless she was crawling around on us, usually on our shoulder or head.

Forgot to post this for Wattles Weds.

Stopped for feed after work Tues and saw this. Promptly thought of everyone unable to keep roosView attachment 4117731put a Bluetooth speaker in him and play some of our Crow-off video sounds. The neighbors can't complain without looking like idiots.

I like it! And no drama with fighting Roos!

$80?!!!!

Whoa Nelly!!

No, the whole plant. If I could swap the entire lawn over to dandelions, I'd happily do so....despite the chickens loving the young grass and the grass seed.
Well as you can see from the picture that started this discussion I am close to achieving the whole area being dandelion. I don't mind - they are pretty and young leaves are nice in salad. I think maybe the rabbits nibble on them a bit.
