I'm heartbroken to report I have lost the smallest of the 2 partridge chicks. I know to expect to loose a chick or two the first few days but this was sudden.

I hope you can combat this problem.

An operation was needed for me after taking medications. So I had no other options other than to find as many alternatives as I possibly could.

Tumeric is good for pain but I would be trying ginger or peppermint tea for the nausea. I drink ginger Tumeric and cloves tea occasionally and find that helps

Marie, there you go again with pushing that tea . Don’t you know that we will just keep dumping it in the harbor? (Boston Harbor) we don’t really know why we do it anymore, but it’s just a habit!

3 have fully hatched, 1 is resting before coming out the rest of the way. I did have to go in and remove one of the egg carton pieces with three shells to make room for the chicks, as they were on the center giving the incubator an error. The one resting is from the waxed egg.

I see one has crept onto the center again, little booger.

It is so cute hearing the other chicks cheer them on to hatch.

The one you waxed did hatch! I’d call him Max. Or Maximillian from the shell. If it’s a girl, forget I said anything about it

No, I didn’t sleep alone last night. This beautiful blonde girl (scared of the other chickens) stayed with me. We saw movies ate popcorn and had some daddy and his little baby chicken time together.

Sometimes I sleep on the chickens room couch/bed. From that windows vantage point, I can clearly see the coop and run. And the picture of Phyllis is still hanging in there. I can’t muster the courage to take it down. The memories of Phyllis and Blu are still fresh in my mind.

Yeah this one is so tiny! I feel like there's hardly any room to hatch with those egg cartons in there, but they're also doing a good job of keeping the eggs upright and not kicked around. To be fair, it's going to do one more hatch after this one and then I'm hoping I'll have broody hens to take over hatching and raising chicks for me.
