These guys worked really hard until well after dark. They were covered in mud. But they got it done. Apparently I have to follow up about some other wires down on the ground (not live I assume), but it was too dark for them to show me.
I will look tomorrow.

@Ponypoor ~ your basking hen pics reminds me of @featherhead007 's pic of cats basking in the yard. Couldn't find his photo but this one caught my attention!

A group of cats lounging together in a grassy yard, enjoying the sunny day and each other's company

I think I know how. I did once get a trial run in a bigger excavator from a friend who does rental equipment.
I nearly pitched into the hole I was digging because I forgot to put the stabilizing feet out. But this one looks much simpler.

You THINK you know how to operate it?

Lazy chickens.
I've noticed, throughout the day, there are times where the chickens sit around and do nothing but preen and sleep. This was taken around 2PM. They chose my doorstep that day as a place to rest.

I've noticed our hens will be very actively eating/foraging/dustbathing all morning, then they slow down, preen, then rest/snooze to digest their crop sometime tween noon & 2:00...then actively start to feed/forage/ & dustbathe again before going to roost to digest a full crop overnight.

Dakota was perched on my leg and let out a soft chirp. She laid an egg with no shell on it? 🤨 She looked at me as if to say “oops sorry) but my redhead has no reason to be sorry about anything.
Time for more calcium in my birds diet
Everyone here is laying, even old Dana...we can hardly keep up filling the oyster shell.
