I wouldn't want to eat a subway sandwich :sick
I honestly don't know what people see in them.
I rarely eat fast food, last month I did grab some Yellow Arches of Death Fries, which I enjoyed….

Relaxing, feet up on the fence, it’s not too chilly chooks are all enjoying being outside. No drama now that Sir Surely isn’t here.

Mr LC and Clyde are out there somewhere…. Jolly is learning good manners from Mr P and his ladies.

Oh she's ok - I didn't clobber her or anything. But I did give her a good talking to. She likes to get into places she shouldn't go, she is highly intellegent and very mobile - she's fast and flies well. I find it interesting that she isn't the 'leader' - but she has no interest in leading she is an 'Independent Intelligent Canadian Woman' - IICW (it's what I call my mum hahaha - she's a firecracker too) - no interest in make the other hens fall in line but if she can drag a few along with her all the better! Butterscotch will often go with her (those two are bad!), and recently old Blanche has been following after her! Sheesh! Blanche can fly but she is not so fast anymore and I worry about her - she is an old lady - too old to be flying after the likes of that IICW!

She's the one who started that new sand pit - and the others took over the made it the size it is now.

She sneaks into the feedroom behind my back, gets behind the shelving and will lay an egg in there. And yesterday, the hay wheelbarrow tipped over and pushed the hay stall door open (it slides). When I got home she and a bunch of the more skinny ladies had squeezing in the door and literally tore apart my straw bale, what a mess. Yesterday she was a very naughty girl!
Whoosh! Just one hen like her, by herself, would wear me out! I thought our Ginny was problematic enough but at least as a bigger heavier Silkie that can't really fly or even jump very high I guess I should count my blessings Ginny can't go aerial!

She's the only bird in 14 yrs to lay her eggs around the yard. I've seen a Silkie drop an egg while walking to the coop not quite making it to a nestbox & one sick bird lay a shell-less egg at the coop door who died the next day. But Ginny in her younger days & is healthy has no such excuses.

Here she is sneaking/gobbling up a millet jar I set down just for a moment.

She stays out of the coop way into dark when everyone else is roosting, she goes around in the dark looking for crickets, & it's a chase around the patio to get her towards the coop, & then she dawdles at the pop door. Some nights DH isn't in the mood or doesn't have the time to play her silly games & picks her up to plop her into an empty nestbox (the Silkies all use the nestboxes to sleep for the night).

Color experts please weigh in with your opinion.

This is little splashy. She has to be splash right? She is not blue, she is not white.

Whatever color she is I'm hanging onto her. I'm also hanging onto a blue one and I had another blue partridge hatch out that I am keeping.
Breeding: One black parent & one splash parent will hatch 100% blue chicks ~ doesn't matter which color is the roo or the hen as long as one is black & one is splash. That's a valuable little baby if it's a splash.

Just spent a little over an hr mowing th grass with BIL’s lawn tractor and I have to say that the hydrostatic drive is terrible! I cannot spend 2-3 hrs pressing down on a gas pedal with 100lb/in squared (ok an over exaggeration) - my leg and back are killing me! And do you think I can find a transmatic drive lawn tractor out there??? No! What is it doesn’t anyone know how to drive a manual gear shift anymore?!

Just as well - cheaper to hire someone likely.

Ok here is the lawn mowing tax
