A young polish roo might be just the thing to keep the ladies from picking Mr P....and be more laid back...
They love Clyde and try to groom him but he will peck at them and run off.

They also groom each other, Even the young pullets groom the older hens.

Don’t want no more Roos!!!!

The neighbor wants his birds back, but they just fly straight back into my yard. It’s a much better place than his cages. I have seen Mamasita pecking at her two little chicks. Sometimes life is cruel and hard to understand.
Stress might be the reason for the chick pecking?

I have thin egg shells from a few of my ladies. They have oyster shell, but prefer egg shells. I'm running out of egg shells!

@Ponypoor, I'm thinking of ordering the calcium/vit D supplement (on Amazon...:hmm not a fan of Amazon...). My understanding is 1/2 teaspoon per liter of water, once a week, per the label, if I'm reading the info correctly.
5ml/litre - I use a syringe for it, and I have a 4L water jug I mix it in - so that would be 20ml for the 4L jug.

Last winter I gave it for a week, then twice a week afterwards.

Now it’s summer so I just give once a week.

I still get some brittle eggs, not sure who it is.

I sure hope your ladies egg shells become stronger. One thing I have noticed is their shells become more brittle when they start to moult.

I used to be wary of Amazon, but it’s so convenient - and with my being so busy, having them drop it at my house is great.

Now somethings I just don’t buy off Amazon as I can get it way cheaper in the stores.

I would consider adding it to their water. I think this is a good idea.
