Good evening, everyone. I'm going to do a health update. I usually keep this stuff private but I don't know what to do anymore. So I might as well tell you what has been happening along with pictures of the little ones.
I decided to stay at home today because my nausea just wasn't going away. Now, my dad is telling me do these exercises to boost my immune system as if that's supposed to help me, but I guess it's worth trying. I feel upset because this has been going on for 2 weeks and I've tried to change my diet. I've avoided dairy, spicy and greasy food and I even ate less sugar, which wasn't my motive but I'll keep it that way. I went to see the doctor and she told me to eat a banana and yogurt for breakfast, which I did but nothing has improved. I've tried to stay hydrated and drank Pedialyte. I don't have a fever or headache but last time I measured my temperature, it was 98.7. This morning it was 99.1. I know that none of you are doctors but this is just how I've been feeling. I can't lie and say "everything is fine." Last night, before going to sleep, I felt nauseous but I slept well.
I don't know why this is happening to me for 2 weeks, but there's something happening. Anyways, here are photos of the little ones that I took today.
This one is just learning to flap her wings and jump, so we had to switch to something taller.

Something is wrong with Raven. She's always sitting and Shakira can't seem to stop standing on her and running her over every time she walks by her.

Here's a twofer.

Disclaimer: This is only my opinion

If it’s possible to get a second opinion from a totally new medical doctor try that. Your feeling of something being wrong shouldn’t be ignored or dismissed.

Write down your symptoms, when they started, and what you have tried and for how long you tried each thing and take it with you. If they refer you to a specialist go and see what perspective they offer you. Keep your list and add to it as you pursue an answer. Sometimes we must advocate for ourselves, this may be one of those times. Ruling out physical causes is the first step.

Your parents know you best and writing it out may help them, help you - even if you aren’t able to see a different Dr.

I do hope you feel better ❤️‍🩹

My iPhone is not working correctly. But I have been able to find you guys.
Update: so far, the little ones have integrated into the coop with Nacho now staying in the coop too. I have been in the air most of the day so I try to follow BYC the best I can. My flight over Catalina island was very nice. 👍🏼
What's wrong with it?

Hey everyone.

It has been a busy couple days and I have not had time to be on.

Sunday was Rosie's 17th birthday. She had a wonderful birthday. My neighbor saved the day with the crawfish boil. Thankfully I bought 2 bags of crawfish. The first bag which I followed her instructions and cooked myself, I somehow managed to overcook them. Bag #2 she came over and cooked them for me and showed me how to do it properly. The 2 of them stuffed themselves afterwards. I will say it now, I am not a fan of crawfish. I did not try them, but, ick the smell of them cooking....not for me. I finally got rid of the smell yesterday. I do not know which is worse, the smell of crawfish cooking or my grandpa's beloved oysters. He loves oyster stuffing on thanksgiving, again, no thank you.

Yesterday Rosie had her sleep study done to see if she has obstructive sleep apnea. She needs her tonsils out and at her age even though they are huge to get approved to have them removed she has to have obstructive sleep apnea. I had to stay overnight with her for the study and spent the night in a uncomfortable recliner.

Now for a silkie chick update. I had a total of 16 hatch. I lost 2 within 24 hours of hatching. I have 1 chick with splayed legs hatch. I told myself to put it down, I have tried before with splayed leg chicks and I have lost every single one of them. This one is different. It is mobile, it can get to the food and water and is eating and drinking wonderfully. The splay legs improved somewhat but are not perfect and never will be. My head tells me to cull it, but this is the first time one has improved somewhat, been mobile and able to get to the food and water on it's own. He/she is strong. I am watching it closely, first sign that it begins to struggle or take a backslide I will cull it. Colorwise I had 3 partridge's hatch, I lost 1. 1 splash and 3 blacks. The rest are blue. I am holding back for myself 1 blue, both partridge, the splash and the splay leg chick. My boss picked out her 4, 1 black and 3 blue. That left me with 5 to list, 3 blue and 2 black. I posted them this evening. Within 10 minutes of listing them they are sold and will be picked up Friday on my next day off along with a dozen hatching eggs. I have the incubator cleaned and will reset it early next week for round 2. Unless I get another splash chick I will not hold any back from that hatching.

Now for some pictures I took this evening.

I will get pictures of my keepers tomorrow. Splashy is also now named Calypso. Of the 4 name options that is the one Rosie chose. If she unfortunately becomes a he, not thinking that way, but, if it happens, Splashy will become Jack Sparrow.

Omg, we had Nyx out not long ago and she hopped up onto my shoe and was completely stuck there -it was a whole 3 - 4” off the floor. She finally gathered up the courage and made the jump and promptly crashed into the tent which was soft at least. Silly goofs indeed!

Happy to share some pics:

Too bad Silkies aren't auto-sexing to know which ones are boys/girls 💕 So adorable!
