Note: my father was a ww2 war hero. Radioman 1st class on the Indianapolis. Same ship that delivered the atomic bomb . He deployed off, just before it sailed off into history. (Lucky for me, because I was born)
If only I could be half the man that he was! Rip dad I love you 💕
He was tasked to intercept Japanese naval transmissions, decode them and with his orders, send false messages back to the Japanese fleet. He saved thousands of allied lives. I’m very proud of my heritage! He was also a study of aerospace, and after the war, he became a designer of commercial aircraft (where I found myself wanting to learn)

&, pray tell, how would you happen to know she snores?
Probably saw me snoozing in my lawnchair this afternoon in the barn alleyway! I was lucky I didn’t have a bunch of chooks sitting on top of me also sleeping!! Woke with a stiff neck ugh…

First Bedtime on Their Own

So first bedtime was interesting. They were yelling for me to come get them and put them in bed so I went out.

They wanted me to pick them up and take them to bed.

I did not.

I showed them the ramp and tapped the porch. Eventually they both came up the ramp and into the coop.
Success

Then they ran out and jumped down again.

🤦‍♂️

After a few more minutes of complaining they were ready to listen again. This time Niamh got up the ramp and into the coop. Once Niamh was in the coop she changed her chirp significantly. It seemed she was calling Nimue to her.

Nimue was having trouble figuring it out so I put her on the ramp. That was all it took. She was up and in the coop and they roosted together.

Once they were roosted, that wonderful low chirping started as they were discussing all of the days adventures. Night one, pretty much a success. I'll take it.

On Their Own
With this step I will be no longer carrying the littles to bed. 😥

Here is the video of them exploring the new opening and what was beyond.

Niamh was the first down the steps.

Nimue soon followed

Nimue promptly dug 2 deep holes in the run.

The next step will be to see if they can find their way back to roost tonight.
I have updated the leaving the coop video to the correct link.

Sorry about that everyone.
