These silkies are just not made for wet weather!

Here she is - drier…. She has been into the manure pile so that’s why she is filthy; and getting wet makes that dirt look worse

Yes, true. And the paparazzi are always looking to catch you at your worst - the glamorous can never go out in public looking anything but their best!!!!

This is such a good picture of Phyllis - she is beautiful, and the lighting is perfect to catch her iridescence.

I loved her iridescent feathers. I have a couple where I caught her just right in the light.

Put them in somewhat sheltered locations (wind shelter). The places they make for themselves seem to be in full sun. I haven't done a roofed shelter yet, but am mulling ideas.
