I might try the pallet 3-sided A-frame just to see if they use if for shelter or for a lookout perch, and go from there on dust bath or not.Yes. That was what I was mulling too.
Given how mine seem to drop down and bathe wherever the fancy takes them I feel maybe the tire is more for my benefit than for them!I might try the pallet 3-sided A-frame just to see if they use if for shelter or for a lookout perch, and go from there on dust bath or not.
That's wonderful. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. That's awesome.I've been to a theatre tonight, it's the first time in thirty years and a thoroughly enjoyed it.
Night night Kelly
Good night everyone.
In my experience it can be very effective.I think I like BY Bob’s idea of a light in the Hen House. I have some solar ones I can put in there to try and entice them into there.
But it is nice to see some of them roosting in there. The older ladies are great and go to bed properly. The youngsters not so much!

How about a Thirsty Thursday video? Does that but me some slack?

I wanting to give them some specific options so they can go for what they need/prefer. Some options for mites/lice preventatives where THEY are applying them. Keeping the superfine powders to outside, I'm thinking of some of the breezier areas to help keep their lungs clear. Currently still mulling locations in addition to how to shelter the tires and the assorted mixes.Given how mine seem to drop down and bathe wherever the fancy takes them I feel maybe the tire is more for my benefit than for them!
It just feels like a good idea and I do have two taking up space in the barn.
I also like the idea of making them a bath mix with sand and some wood ash for example.
Keep us updated as I am definitely mulling along similar lines.I wanting to give them some specific options so they can go for what they need/prefer.
