Please tell me my eyes are just tired and my sweet baby Posy isn't getting brown shoulders and a rooster tail...
Been fighting a migraine and hubby said he didn't see any red feathers and boys have red feathers...

I don't see any brown or red but I'm not great at identifying cockerels.

A silver based roo isn't going to have red shoulders unless he's dominate white over a gold base and it leaks through.

I wish I could get a good pic of their comb! It is a straight comb with a little horn off to the side, very cute.

She hates being picked up but was happy on my lap, pecking my phone.

Roadrunner has an asymmetrical crest, it droops a bit on her left side. She looks so fashionable.

Edith was on me briefly earlier. She mostly pecks my butt with the other Marans.
Navy stepped up onto my arm right after this.

I think I like BY Bob’s idea of a light in the Hen House. I have some solar ones I can put in there to try and entice them into there.

But it is nice to see some of them roosting in there. The older ladies are great and go to bed properly. The youngsters not so much!

Posy has at least partial lacing (technically its pencilling, i think: black doesnt edge the feather, rather white edges the feather). The challenge with markings like this is that it can "distort" the shape of the feathers. Eyes sort of skip over the white to the sharp contrast of the black. It makes the feathers appear pointy when the edge isn't. It can also make the pointy feathers appear less pointed. Depends upon how the marks flow on the feathers.

I would like to see a good, clear, close face and profile pic or several.
