Good morning everyone.

I have been silent and I am sorry. I have been mourning the loss of dear Owly since Friday morning. My brother hit her while leaving to go to work. I do not blame him, he was in as big of a wreck as I was. I also do not blame George anymore. Owly was a few days into being broody for the first time and had come off her nest. George was doing what roosters do and Owly was just running from him. I finally forgave George yesterday evening while sitting out back and he came and hopped up on my lap for his cuddles. It has been hard to even look at him since Friday. I guess in that moment it dawned on me that I came very close to loosing him as well. It was not malicious in his part of chasing her. I have saw it happen 1000 times when a broody hen comes off the nest that first week or so. Every one of my boys have done it in the past. They chase the girl for a few seconds and then stop when they realize she wants nothing to do with them.

Fly high my friend. You are with Grandma again and I'm sure she was thrilled to have you back.

An emotional time losing such great pets. It’s hard to imagine how you feel. Everyone mourns loss in their own way, but it’s uplifting to hear that you have forgiveness in your heart ❤️ that really helps the process. So sorry for your loss of Owly, and the providence that George has experienced. :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

I am so very sorry for your loss.

I have no idea. :idunno I will try to get some better pictures of them tomorrow after I get back.
Then we can at least see all the colors that they have. Mama hen (nacho) is basically brown. I’m not sure who the daddy was.
I'm not intimating that you're a snoop in any way... but does it look like the neighbor's chickens were ALL game birds or does he have a variety of breeds?

Read my post #590 a page back
Only other bird is a white rooster, and the three others that I took care of for months. I’m still a bit annoyed by that neighbor coming through my fence and taking the three from my coop. They ran in hoping to be safe. :( Their names were queso, Frijole and jalapeno.

Note: I warned that neighbor that if he comes through the fence again, I will arrest him immediately and send him to jail.
(Better deal than shooting him)

He has ducks, geese (no pond for them to swim in) regular chooks, and several roosters that I don’t know the breed. If he’s breeding chickens for anything other than eggs or meat, I would be happy to take the opportunity to find out where those chooks go (fighting birds)?
