Thank you, he is a character for sure. I am torn between keeping him or Fennel. They are making it hard to choose for sure! I wish I had a crystal ball 🔮 to tell which boy is gonna be nice or naughty.

Oh wow their head poofs are really coming in!! Beautiful just beautiful 😍

That last picture lol she looks like she is saying: I know I shouldn’t but it’s sooo yummy!!

So far they do look like girls to me. The boys in pics seem to have “stringier” head poofs in all the photos I have seen. The girls are nice and rounded like yours are. Keeping my guess at both being girls.

Brave you are so brave. Mine always want to perch on my shoulder but I take em right back down. to close to my eyes for my comfort. I fully recall @Ponypoor getting pecked near her eye. 👁️ I don’t think they mean harm but … they do peck anything interesting 🧐
Niamh was trying to remove my wedding ring the other day. They do love shiny things.

Ha! Tooo much dataaa talk .. more chicken pics please, right?

Sorry, I will do my part to alleviate the situation.
Look not chickens on a roost bar!

The hold outs on top of the nest box. I am happy they aren’t on floor .. I’ll still take this as success.

They are so darling 🥰 🥰 🥰 I just love the tiny little fluff balls of silkies saying 'yup we belong up here with the big girls!'🥰:gig🥰:gig

I think you mentioned possibly putting a roost bar on top of the nest boxes - given that you have a few SFH 'roosting' there - I think that is a good idea. It will also give them a second roost in case someone 'patrols' the other roost like Aurora would at times!

Good morning everyone.

I have been silent and I am sorry. I have been mourning the loss of dear Owly since Friday morning. My brother hit her while leaving to go to work. I do not blame him, he was in as big of a wreck as I was. I also do not blame George anymore. Owly was a few days into being broody for the first time and had come off her nest. George was doing what roosters do and Owly was just running from him. I finally forgave George yesterday evening while sitting out back and he came and hopped up on my lap for his cuddles. It has been hard to even look at him since Friday. I guess in that moment it dawned on me that I came very close to loosing him as well. It was not malicious in his part of chasing her. I have saw it happen 1000 times when a broody hen comes off the nest that first week or so. Every one of my boys have done it in the past. They chase the girl for a few seconds and then stop when they realize she wants nothing to do with them.

Fly high my friend. You are with Grandma again and I'm sure she was thrilled to have you back.

Is bird fighting illegal there ? It is here but still people do it, mostly immigrants who don’t know better. Which is why I demand my Roos be processed here and not taken off property. No way I am letting any Roos leave here to be dumped in with strange Roos fighting getting hurt.
Yeah. That's my girl :hugs

Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 on your PowerPoint 🏆 🏆
